And The Winner Is... Collins + Conley!

Get to Know the Winner of our Women in Business Contest

Regarding style for little ones, Fort Worth families know Collins + Conley is the place to go. The local small business received overwhelming support during West Fort Worth Lifestyle's community-driven Instagram competition, securing the nomination for Fort Worth's favorite small business by a majority of online votes. In the heart of Clearfork, three women founded this charming children's boutique: Ashley Watten, Sarah Leafgren, and Denise Leafgren. Under their watch, the store grew into something more: a passionate community of families who appreciate beautifully crafted children's fashion.
"Our story goes way back to 2009 when Ashley and I met working at Pine Cove Camps during our college years," Sarah shares. "We formed such a sweet friendship back then, never imagining that Sarah would marry Ashley's brother, Kyle, years later, and we'd become sisters-in-law!"
The duo's bond only grew stronger as they navigated their respective journeys into motherhood. Inspired by their firstborn daughters, Collins and Conley, they dreamed of creating a boutique that catered to other moms seeking stylish and comfortable clothing for their children. Their shared vision took flight in 2019 with the enthusiastic support of Ashley's mom, Denise Leafgren.
"Collins + Conley officially launched in the summer of 2019, right after we both had our first daughters," Ashley says. "Our roads to motherhood were not without struggle, and we'd been dreaming of the day to shop for our babies. When that time came, we struggled to find everything we wanted in one place. That's when we knew we had to create it ourselves."
The online boutique quickly gained momentum. Then, in early 2021, an opportunity to host a short-term pop-up at The Shops at Clearfork presented itself.
"The moment we got to interact with our customers face-to-face, we knew this was where we needed to be," says Sarah. "That pop-up eventually led to our permanent space at Clearfork that we now call home."
Collins + Conley stands apart for its carefully curated collection of children's apparel and its welcoming atmosphere. The boutique blends traditional and modern styles, offering timeless pieces alongside whimsical designs.
"Our toy table keeps little ones entertained while parents shop," Ashley notes. "And we want every mom to know she's always welcome here, just as she is."
Their commitment to fostering connections extends beyond their doors. The boutique regularly collaborates with other local women-owned businesses, celebrating the creativity and entrepreneurship within Fort Worth.
"We absolutely love working with other small businesses, whether hosting pop-ups in our store or carrying brands created by amazing Fort Worth women," Sarah shares. "It's a joy to support and celebrate each other’s successes."
Gratitude shines through Ashley and Sarah as they reflect on their recent outpouring of community approval.
"There's nowhere like Fort Worth," Ashley says. "The support and love from this community has truly been unmatched. It's hard to express how thankful we are."
Sarah echoes this sentiment, adding, "This recognition means the world to us. More than anything else, we love that our daughters get a front-row seat to what lots of hard work and big dreams can build."
The future is bright for Collins + Conley. In addition to releasing vibrant spring and summer collections, the boutique recently launched its own clothing line, Hollis Baker.
"Hollis Baker is all about offering unique, high-quality pieces for special occasions and everyday wear," Ashley shares. "We're beyond proud of this new chapter."
For those seeking playful, stylish, and thoughtfully curated children's fashion, a visit to Collins + Conley at Clearfork is a must.
"When you shop small with us, you're not just supporting a business," Ashley says warmly. "You're supporting our family, our dream, and a whole community of small brands we love."
Fort Worth has spoken, and it's clear that Collins + Conley has earned its place as a cherished part of the city's growing landscape. Here's to celebrating women in business, the power of community, and the joy of dressing little ones with love.
