Magnolia Shadows is witness to one man’s pursuit of connection, tranquility and return to nature. Andrea Cerofolini, the visionary behind this equestrian resort and venue, has a journey as captivating as the property itself. Originally hailing from Como, Italy, Cerofolini’s story is one of self-discovery, exploration and new beginnings.

Cerofolini’s journey began in the picturesque town of Como, Italy, known for its serene lakes and lush landscapes. He sought new horizons and ventured to the United States to attend Boston University. After graduation, he thrived in his career in New York City. Despite his success, he felt an overwhelming sense of disconnection when he walked around the city. The longing for a more meaningful life led him to purchase a bird dog, which changed everything.

Dedicated to training his new companion, he traveled outdoors, which enflamed a passion he hadn’t realized was missing. He yearned for a lifestyle where he could immerse himself in nature. With a newfound purpose, he packed his essentials, purchased a horse and trailer, and he and his dog began their cross-country adventure searching for their new home.

For two and a half years, Cerofolini traversed the United States, exploring over 175 different properties. He immersed himself in the horse community, competing and forging connections along the way. The journey was exhilarating, but each property fell short of his vision. It wasn’t until a chance meeting at The Willcox in Aiken that his fortune changed.

At The Willcox, Cerofolini met Adam Snow, one of America’s greatest polo players, who introduced him to several other locals. These connections led Cerofolini to a property that resonated deeply with him. When he first laid eyes on the home nestled between two magnificent magnolia trees, he knew he had found his sanctuary. Thus, Magnolia Shadows was born.

Magnolia Shadows is more than just an equestrian resort; it’s a retreat into a world of elegance and natural beauty. The plantation features three king suites and a master, a charming guest cottage and a campground for horse trailers that provides a range of lodging options. From the balcony, guests gaze upon a decadent pool that creates its own oasis.

The property is a picture of pastoral perfection with a beautiful barn surrounded by paddocks and rolling hills. The tack room smells of worn leather and hard work as you glance upon all the ribbons and accolades Cerofolini has achieved. His passion for the animals and his land is why he maintains the land naturally, ensuring the horses thrive in a pristine environment untouched by chemicals. His commitment to sustainable practices is evident in every aspect of the property’s management.
