How do you give back to your local community?

One of my favorite ways of giving back to my local community is performing what my dance studio calls a “lecture demonstration”. This essentially is a mini version of the Nutcracker which we perform at Senior Centers like the Inn - Part of Waveny LifeCare, Atria Stamford, The Residence at Summer Street, the New Canaan Library, and many other places free of charge. This is a great way to share dancing with others and it allows me to engage with people in my community.

What do you love about your local community?

Something I love most about my community is the sense of connection and support that exists within it. It’s a place where people genuinely care about one another, which creates a welcoming atmosphere. The New Canaan Library or Starbucks is where you will find most people my age after school, and I think places like these are so important to have as a further way to connect.

What motivates you to get involved?

I am motivated by the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others whether it’s in or out of my community. It’s rewarding to contribute to projects or causes that help improve the local environment, support those in need, and nurture a sense of connection among people. Small actions can create ripple effects, building a stronger, more supportive community.

What advice can you leave us with?

The best piece of advice I’ve ever heard was from my dance teacher who said, "Nothing great in the world has ever been accomplished without passion".
