If you drive by the intersection of Vandeventer Avenue and Shaw Boulevard just off I-44, you can't miss it. Gringo Jones Imports, a staple—or attraction, really—of the Shaw neighborhood since 1995. The giant giraffe statues, stone lions and other lawn ornaments perched outside this shop are enough to turn heads. Be prepared to spend an afternoon exploring room after room of fascinating finds—many imported from Mexico—and don't be surprised if you end up taking home an item or two. Oh, and I hope you like dogs. Owner Leon Jones has several shop dogs wandering about.

As any Shaw resident or Missouri Botanical Garden visitor can tell you, Gringo Jones' appeal is undeniable. There is also, let's face it, a seriously awesome WTF factor involved with a trip to Gringo Jones Imports. Too grand to be called simply "lawn ornaments," the garden statuary are your persnickety neighborhood association's nightmare and John Waters' dream.
