RECIPE OF THE MONTH-MAY 2024

Baked Goat Cheese Dip with Charred Scallions & Za'atar

 served with fresh cut, crunchy vegetables and a crusty piece of sourdough bread

Serves 4-6 


12 oz plain Goat Cheese (room temperature) Michigan Based Idyll Farms goat cheese is best

4 oz Cream Cheese 

1/4 Cup Parmesan Cheese (grated by hand)

2-3 Tablespoons Heavy Cream

1-2 Tablespoons Olive Oil

1/2 Preserved Lemon (small dice) or 1 Tablespoon fresh Lemon Zest

1 Tablespoon Za'atar

Fresh Ground Pepper, Red Pepper Flakes and Sea Salt to taste

1/2 Cup Charred Green Onions (sliced thinly into 1 inch long sections) or Caramelized Red Onions, Fresh Chives, or any Herbs of your choice

Directions

1. Mix first 3 ingredients in a food processor or mixer.

2. Add Heavy Cream 1 T at a time until mixture is spreadable but not thin

3.. Add Lemon, plus 1/2 of the Charred Green Onions

4. Taste, add Pepper, Pepper Flakes and Salt until desired seasoning is correct

5. Spread in oven safe crock or cast iron pan

6. Top with remaining Green Onions and Za'atar.

7.. Heat in 350 oven 15-20 minutes

8.  Drizzle Olive Oil on top, Enjoy with crunchy crudites and crusty bread!
