As the sun sets over the Treasure Valley, Boise gears up for a landmark event that not only marks the 30th Anniversary of the Buy Idaho Capitol Show but also symbolizes a beacon of hope and community resurgence. Scheduled for February 28th, from 8 am to 3 pm at the Idaho State Capitol Rotunda, this year's Capitol Show promises to be more than just a marketplace; it's a testament to Idaho's resilience, innovation, and the indomitable spirit of its people.

Faces Behind the Show:

Buy Idaho, the state's oldest advocate for small business success, takes center stage in orchestrating this celebration. Jennifer Mauk, Executive Director, and Wyatt King, Member Relationship Manager, bring their passion for community support to the forefront. Mauk affirms, "Independent businesses are the lifeforce of our communities," underscoring the pivotal role the Capitol Show plays in showcasing Idaho's unique offerings.

As Boise Mayor Lauren McLean reflects on the challenges of the past two years, she emphasizes the event's significance in Boise's ongoing economic recovery. "These past two years have been a struggle for our local businesses," says Mayor McLean. The Capitol Show emerges as a crucial avenue for residents to make a direct impact on their community by supporting local businesses.

This year's event, featuring around 100 local businesses, has a special addition: a floor dedicated to Veteran and Spouse Owned businesses, in collaboration with the Idaho Veterans Chamber of Commerce. This not only highlights the inclusivity of the Capitol Show but also honors the contributions of those who have served our country.

As Yehuda Berg's words echo in the winter air, "A true community is about feeling connected and responsible for what happens." The Capitol Show invites attendees to not only explore and support local businesses but to actively participate in nurturing the sense of connectedness that defines Idaho.

In a year that heralds fresh starts, the Capitol Show encourages local schools to bring students for career exploration. By gaining insights into the small businesses driving the state's economy, students can ignite their entrepreneurial spirit, laying the groundwork for Idaho's future innovators.

As we step into 2024, the Buy Idaho Capitol Show stands as more than an annual tradition; it's a celebration of Idaho's indomitable spirit. Join in building a stronger economy, supporting local businesses that are the lifeforce of their communities, and fostering the unique culture that defines Idaho. This isn't just an event; it's a declaration of resilience and a testament to the diverse array of businesses that make Idaho truly exceptional.
