I can not believe it is 2020!!

If you are anything like me I love setting goals for the year to come. However, over the years I have discovered there are good ways and bad ways of setting goals. I have learned a few tricks to help me actually hit my goals throughout the year that doesn't make me feel overwhelmed or has me quitting a month into the year.

Here they are.....

1. Set Realistic Goals

Don't get me wrong you can have BIG goals and dreams for the year but break them down. Maybe your goal is to run a marathon by the end of the year. So break that down into I will run X amount of miles each month or I will run 5-10Ks before my marathon. This will help keep you going and make you feel like you are accomplishing something with each small goal you cross off!

2. Put a Plan in Place

The only way you will hit your goals is to actually have a plan to reach them. The best way to get discouraged and quit on your New Year goals is to not have a plan of attack.

3. Ask for Help

A lot of times people do not stick to their goals especially, a health or fitness goal, because they don't know where to start or what to do to make the change they want and to keep it. So never be afraid to ask for help!!! Find a health coach, personal trainer or even a friend who can walk you step by step through what you need to do to reach your goals.

4. Find Someone to Hold you Accountable

Find a friend, family member or a coach to hold you accountable. This has been the number ONE thing that my clients have found beneficial when it comes to changing their health.

5. Don't Give Up

One of the main reasons people give up on their goals is because they get off track or lose focus. You know what, that is OK; it happens to everyone, it is called LIFE! However you just have to find your way back to your goal; maybe you need to reevaluate your plan and goal, and try again.

XOXO
