Learn How Kristy Edward's Journey Led Her to Helping Others

Kristy Edwards is the founder & owner of Neatly Balanced, a business that not only helps organize closets and homes but thoughtfully donates all things that are no longer needed.

Always having a passion for helping those within her community, Kristy would always donate clothes to different organizations from her nanny job. She decided to dig deeper into the Nashville community and see what other shelters were in need.

“I was completely floored by the need and by how many organizations in Nashville that were helping the less fortunate. Growing up in a privileged environment, it was lost on me how much of a need there was here and how many people were living without basic essentials.”

While Neatly Balanced is thriving beyond Tennessee, the journey was never a simple one. Kristy credits the obstacles she faced in her past for leading her to the idea to start Neatly Balanced.

Years ago, Kristy learned she had suffered a miscarriage - a secret she has only recently shared after carrying it on her own for 15 years.

Between the stigma surrounding miscarriages and child loss that leads women to suffer in silence, to the consumerism ‘more is more’ mindset- Kristy created Neatly Balanced to show support to everyone and let it be known that you are seen.

Kristy, her mother, and her sister went on a missions trip to Honduras, where they learned a church would be named in honor of her late father; who died only a few months before. Kristy got to witness, firsthand, the love and happiness the people of Honduras shared, even though they had so little.

“In my heart, Neatly Balanced was launched then… There are things laying around everyone’s homes that they have five of when there are children and adults out there who don’t even have anything.”

Officially announcing Neatly Balanced only a couple of weeks before the 2020 pandemic, Kristy’s hard work prevailed because the demand for home organization had been larger than ever! Within two weeks, she had a three-week-long waitlist.

Neatly Balanced offers a wide range of services - including membership packages and a porch pickup. While organization is their main focus, Neatly Balanced works with every budget and has services ranging from $200 to $4,000.
