At Beach Life by Terry, a classy, beach-themed jewelry and accessories store in the Pinebrook Plaza, the ideas all come from the creative mind of owner Terry Magruder. Working in sterling silver and semi-precious stones, Terry creates bright, elegant and eye-catching designs that tell of a love for the beauty of the sea. A silver-toned multicolored sea glass necklace and earring set has the complexity and grace of living coral. Silver and semi-precious stone inlaid starfish are found across the collection, with the cozy, welcoming shop accentuated by whimsical underwater paintings and a mermaid theme.
“Terry has an awesome talent,” says Tony Pitts, manager of Beach Life by Terry. “She loves using materials that remind you of the ocean, things that offer that coastal Florida feeling. You feel like you're on vacation when you wear our jewelry.”
Opened in January of this year, Beach Life by Terry builds on Terry’s success online. On Nov. 29 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., Beach Life will be holding its "Champagne Friday." Shoppers can enjoy complimentary champagne, mimosas and lite bites at the store while discovering an eclectic array of clothing and gifts.
“People love to browse here,” says Tony. “We want them to have a relaxing experience, to take their time and enjoy themselves. At Beach Life by Terry, people come in and they don’t really know what they want until they suddenly see it. Sometimes they come in looking for jewelry and they leave with home décor.”
Offering a competitive price point, Beach Life by Terry has interesting collections of everything from kitchen towels to key chains, to candles, to handmade dresses, and to oil lamps made from seashells. Handcrafted soaps are extremely popular, and so are juice cleanses. Higher-end items include the handmade semi-precious-stone jewelry.
“Our lines are really unique to us,” says Tony. “Almost all of our jewelry is handcrafted with care and is one-of-a-kind.”
Paintings by local artists decorate the walls, a bubbling fountain adds to the theme and calming feel of the store, where the color scheme is ocean blues. Terry takes her inspiration from her days kayaking and paddleboarding.
