Big Visions
When brother and sister co-owners Donavan Kennedy and Ashlee Kennedy took over the venue, they had big visions. With Donavan’s wine expertise as a level 3 sommelier and Ashlee’s extensive involvement in the hospitality industry, this gifted duo put their heads together and sought to make Hillside an outstanding venue. Together, they’ve been able to create something unique to Colorado Springs.
“We are so fortunate to have some of the most talented and incredible staff in town,” Donavan said. “It’s made a huge difference in making weddings, events, and concerts a staple experience.”
Wednesday Night Concerts
Even better? Hillside is famous for its concerts on Wednesday nights in the Garden, and Donavan and Ashlee have also set out to make those a stand-out experience, as well. It’s not every day that you can go to an outdoor concert and have five specialty concept bars to choose from, each with their own niche beverages. But at Hillside Gardens, it’s just another Wednesday.
“We wanted to create something distinctive and eclectic that reflects our passions and gives people an opportunity to experience how truly special the venue is.”
Every Wednesday you can choose from Cactus Jack’s Tequila Bar, a wine bar, a renovated 1970’s trailer bar that serves brews and fun adult beverages and coming soon at the end of the summer, a whiskey bar in an imaginatively revamped silo. Along with the array of beverage choices, you can also experience local food trucks and play outdoor games all while jamming to the talent of the town.
