Visconti is the name of certain noble dynasties in Italy, dating all the way back to 1207. In 2019, Hotel Granduca Austin's Visconti Ristorante was recognized for the Open Table Diner's Choice award for the restaurant with the best views. The daily dishes are exceptional to any other Italian restaurant in Austin, and the well-deserved credit belongs to none other than Visconti’s respectable and talented executive chef, Miguel Ortiz. Miguel began his journey as Visconti’s executive chef in 2018. He has nearly 20 years of hospitality and culinary experience and has held chef and executive chef positions and received multiple industry awards and accolades at a number of US properties.
“When I was called and offered an opportunity at the Hotel Granduca," says Miguel, "I jumped on it. The owners and executive staff are awesome and the property is beautiful. It was a smaller property than I am used to but was capable of food executions I prepare in larger hotels and resorts, with an excellent emphasis on quality and a staff every chef desires.”
Visconti offers a breakfast menu with a wide variety of delectable options to choose from such as lemon-ricotta pancakes, custom omelets, steak and eggs, pastries, bagels and much more.
