Selling (and crafting) jewelry is a family affair for Anne-Marie Beris.
As owner of Anne-Marie’s Fine Jewelry (AMFJ), she followed in the footsteps of her great-grandfather, a watchmaker, and her grandmother, a jewelry saleswoman. And now she’s got another generation helping her shine.
Beris, who wanted more flexibility while starting her family, left a full-time jewelry sales gig after 11 years and began selling jewelry around friends’ dining room tables. Before she knew it, she was caring for three kids under the age of four and had expanded the business enough to need a storefront.
Twenty-two years later, AMFJ is proud to be serving Stark County with traditional service values and unique, hand-picked jewelry and gifts. Beris’ oldest daughter, Alyssa left corporate America to oversee the store’s marketing effort. The middle child, Lauren, just finished jeweler school in Nashville. Even Beris’ mom works in the office. The men of the family – husband, George and son, Michael – help keep the store in top shape and have worked on the point-of-sale system.
“She did everything for us, and now we’re doing everything for her,” said Alyssa. “I wouldn’t have moved back home if I didn’t believe in my mom or in Stark County.”
The full-service store offers diamonds, gemstones, platinum, gold and silver, expert repair and custom design. From engagement rings to personalized or engraved specialty pieces, Anne-Marie’s team prides itself on finding or creating unique pieces that mean something to people.
“Our jewelers bring over 35 years of experience, so there’s basically nothing we can’t do,” said Beris. “We’re passionate about this business, and with such strong family ties, we’re here to stay.”
