BETTER TOGETHER

Meet These Couples Who Are Partners In Life And In Business

Sherese & Rex Glendenning

How long have you been married? We just celebrated our 39th Anniversary.

What is the best part about working together? Teamwork and building our real estate business together. We have been in business since 1987. It has been very rewarding and also very challenging at times. We both have our own unique perspectives and feel we are pretty good at balancing each other's opinions not only in our business but also in our daily life.

What advice would you offer to other couples that are considering working together? Be patient and when you go home, try to leave business at the office. It doesn't always work out that way, but we try!

What is your favorite local date spot? We gravitate to our ranch and the fireplace on the porch but do enjoy Gloria’s in Prosper for a margarita and Mexican food!

How long have you been married? We celebrated 28 years on November 19th.

What is the best part about working together? We get to share in our dream together. So many couples (us included) had different careers which added to the complexity and rat race of life. Now, we have one dream together so we get to work with each other on one dream or as many as we can come up with. We also complement each other’s strengths.

What advice would you offer to other couples that are considering working together?

We are led by the Lord together in marriage so prayer is very important. Communication, compromise, and a plan worked on together are also important. If both members of the couple are not 100% “in” then we would suggest finding something that both of you are “in” on.  Teamwork makes the Dream work.

What is your favorite local date spot?

We don’t go on too many “dates” these days. However, we usually enjoy a good cocktail (or two) and belly up to the bar somewhere to grab a bite to eat. It is important for us to reflect on the day’s or week's successes and then dream about the future while enjoying the drinks and food.

How long have you been married? 26 years this month (2/27)

What is the best part about working together? We think the best part of working together is that we are working on the same goal collectively. Furthermore, we are able to leverage each other's strengths.

What advice would you offer to other couples that are considering working together? After seven years of working together, we have learned communication is essential.  You are working with your toughest critic and at the same time your biggest fan. It's important to find a way to not constantly talk about the business and not kill one another. (wink)

What is your favorite local date spot?  We sneak up to the Celina Square a lot for impromptu meals. We can't wait to try Millie's.

How long have you been married? 22 glorious years

What is the best part about working together? We are there for each other, through the good and the bad times. We truly understand what each other is going through. We are each other’s biggest cheerleaders and each other’s voice of reason when needed.  We don’t sugarcoat, we tell each other like it is (like it or not).

What advice would you offer to other couples that are considering working together? You have to be able to separate work from home and home from work. You have to be able to have fun together and be able to work under pressure together.

How long have you been married? We've been married for five years.

What is the best part about working together? We love that we get to spend a lot more time together. We also feel like it has made us closer because the business is a big part of our lives that we get to share now.

What advice would you offer to other couples that are considering working together? Our advice would be to know when to keep business and personal life separate, for example, we don't talk about business when we are out on dates.

What is your favorite local date spot? We love to go to Tender for dinner and play cornhole after!
