Beyond the Lens

A2i’s Inspires Excellence Frame by Frame

There’s something special about a local business taking the time to truly see the people it serves. Owned and operated by Nicholas Fisher, A2i Photography, stands for Aspire to Inspire, a name that doubles as a promise. Through carefully crafted portraits, Fisher helps clients see themselves with confidence and clarity, using his lens to highlight the personality and identity of each subject.

“It’s not just inspiring myself. It’s about inspiring my subjects and helping them inspire others as well,” Fisher says. “It’s really my creative outlet. It allows me to see different styles and sides to each subject.”

That intentional approach is shaped by Fisher’s life beyond photography and a career long rooted in service. An active-duty Air Force Captain, he currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies, where he trains, supervises and develops officer candidates into leaders and commissioned officers in the U.S. Air and Space Forces. Teaching college-level coursework requires precision, adaptability and a keen understanding of people - qualities that seamlessly carry over to his work behind the camera.

Fisher enlisted in the Air Force in 2003 as an Aircraft Hydraulic Maintenance Technician before cross-training as an Imagery Intelligence Analyst. After graduating summa cum laude from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2016, he commissioned through Officer Training School in 2017 and went on to hold intelligence leadership assignments at Offutt Air Force Base and Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, supporting operations across Iran, Yemen, and Afghanistan. In 2021, he helped coordinate intelligence efforts during the Afghanistan Noncombatant Evacuation Operation, contributing to the safe evacuation of approximately 124,000 people.

Fisher’s path to photography began long before his business opened its doors. In 2013, he picked up a camera to capture moments as his children grew up. With guidance from his uncle, a professional photographer, he learned the technical foundations such as camera mechanics, editing and light, building skills that would later shape his style. After relocating to Nebraska, A2i Photography officially launched in 2021, defined by both craft and purpose.

“I love the creative nature of what you can do with light and science within a photography session,” Fisher says. “With A2i, you know you’re going to get a high quality product. You know you’re going to get creativity and someone who puts thought into their work.”

A2i focuses on senior portraits, corporate headshots and sports photography for local schools and athletic organizations. While family and couples sessions are available, Fisher is intentional about working where his creativity thrives.

Senior portraits sit at the heart of the business. Each session begins with conversation - learning an individual’s interests, style and personality before translating those details into images that feel personal rather than posed. The result is photography that doesn’t just mark a milestone, but preserves a moment of becoming.

“A2i is geared toward how we can be creative in the nature of what we’re doing. Using the environment we have within us to kind of capture that as well,” Fisher says.

That same thoughtfulness carries into A2i’s corporate and sports work. From January through March, the studio focuses on headshots, helping local professionals put their best face forward. Sports photography fills in around the calendar and often requires additional photographers for large-volume events. It’s work that supports schools, teams and organizations, adding another layer of community impact.

What makes A2i distinctive isn’t speed or volume, but care. Sessions aren’t rushed. Outfit changes aren’t capped. Locations are chosen deliberately, with color theory, lighting angles and environment all considered. Fisher’s approach blends creativity with science, an understanding of how light, color and contrast work together to elevate a subject. His use of controlled lighting and flash techniques brings consistency and polish, even in unpredictable settings.

That growth is supported by community - family, loved ones and professional networks. Fisher is active within the Professional Photographers of Nebraska and has refined his craft through advanced education at the Texas School of Professional Photography.

Fisher has also attained his Masters in Business Administration, which allows him to efficiently run a customer-first business. He rounded out his education by becoming a Certified Professional Photographer through the Professional Photographers of America. Each accolade adds to the knowledge and care behind the Fisher’s lens and at the heart of A2i.

Albums, wall art and thoughtfully edited images are designed to last, not just for now, but for generations to come. Working with A2i Photography isn’t just about choosing a photographer; it’s about choosing craftsmanship over convenience, connection over transaction and a vision of local business that reflects Nebraska at its best.

“I really focus a lot on customer service and how I develop the process of a session,” Fisher says.  "That, and my communication from start to finish is always going to be clear and professional. I want to give my clients the best I can offer.”

Fisher’s work can be viewed on his website, www.A2iphotographyomaha.com, where you can also find contact information if interested in booking a one of a kind experience for your next photo session.

“It’s not just inspiring myself. It’s about inspiring my subjects and helping them to inspire others."

“With A2i, you know you’re going to get a high quality product. You know you’re going to get creativity and someone who puts thought into their work.”
