An artist credited by millions of people with enhancing their relationship with art will be showcased this month in one of the most unique presentations to travel through The Gateway City.
Tickets for the blockbuster exhibition, “Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience,” are on sale. The exhibition fills the new Starry Night Pavilion on the grounds of the Saint Louis Galleria.
Vincent Willem van Gogh was a Dutch post-impressionist painter who posthumously became one of the most famous, influential figures in Western art. In a decade, he created 2,100 artworks, including 860 oil paintings, most of which date from the last two years of his life.
This immersive experience features more than 300 of Vincent Van Gogh’s iconic artworks, and takes art lovers into a three-dimensional world that exhilarates the senses. It was created by French-Canadian Creative Director Mathieu St-Arnaud and his team at Montreal-based Normal Studio.
Beyond Van Gogh will only be in St. Louis between Oct. 1 through Nov. 7.
Exhibition hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Four entry times are available each hour. Prices begin at $33.99 for adults and $19.99 for children ages 5 to 15. Children under 5 years are free.
Through multimedia and cutting-edge projection technology, Beyond Van Gogh breathes new life into Van Gogh’s vast work. Using the artist’s own dreams, thoughts and words to drive the experience as a narrative, guests move along projection-swathed walls wrapped in light and color that swirls, dances, and refocuses into flowers, cafes, and landscapes.
