“Boogie” is a 6-year-old Longhorn by breed, but a Fightin’ Texas Aggie and Celina Bobcat by heart. He lives in Celina, Texas at Circle 25 Ranch owned by Matt and Lauren Douglas. However, he feels like everyone in the community is family.
What makes Boogie special is his extremely laid-back disposition, intelligence, desire to please, and love for social activities. He enjoys being rubbed and brushed and will go out of his way to seek attention. Boogie has accomplished a lot in his short life including riding in parades, participating in school events, graduation parties, corporate events, rodeos, commercials and photoshoots, and posing for magazines. Anything with people, he enjoys.
Boogie has a horn length of over 85 inches and weighs roughly 1,850 pounds. At home he has a best friend, who is also a longhorn, named Gus. Gus’s horns are much larger at 100 inches in length and he weighs over 2,000 pounds. Boogie has a nose ring and his reins connect to this ring. This ring is used to steer Boogie. He loves to be rubbed under his chin, chest, back, and ears. However, he does not like to be tapped on the forehead or nose.
Matt and Lauren Douglas both graduated from Texas A&M University where Matt was a football letterman. Both Matt and Lauren participated in Aggies For Christ and met at church. They have two little girls named Harper (9) and Madison (7), who, like their Mom, Dad, uncles, aunts and cousins, plan on attending Texas A&M. The Douglas Family takes so much joy from seeing kids light up when they see Boogie up close. They are always thankful when they hear stories about stuffed animals being named “Boogie,” drawings that kids give them of him, or seeing kids wear a t-shirt with Boogie’s picture on the back.
