Boozy Hot Chocolate

Nothing feels more like winter than sitting in front of a fireplace watching your favorite holiday movie while sipping on a perfect cup of hot chocolate full of marshmallows, topped with whipped cream. Although the holidays might look a little different this year, the dishes and beverages you serve can be just as festive as years gone by. I recently tried a boozy ice cream sundae from Beginnings in Atlantic Beach. I was blown away by the combination and inspired to create boozy hot chocolate recipes.

The following drinks will be perfect to serve during the holidays to keep your spirits high. These recipes can be served either hot or frozen. Your friends and family will be impressed by the taste of these photogenic drinks.

Peppermint Espresso Frozen Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

• 1.25 oz hot chocolate envelope
• 1 cup ice 
• 6 oz milk 
• 1 ½  oz peppermint vodka
• 1 ½ oz espresso Irish cream
• 1 tsp vanilla syrup

Toppings:

• Chocolate syrup
• Whipped cream
• Crushed candy canes
• Toasted marshmallows

Directions:

1. In blender, blend together all ingredients until smooth and set aside
2. Line glass and rim of glass with chocolate syrup
3. Dip rim in crushed candy canes
4. Fill glass with mixture 
5. Top with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, crushed candy canes and toasted marshmallows
6. Enjoy!

Salted Caramel Peppermint Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

• 1.25 oz hot chocolate envelope
• 1 cup ice 
• 6 oz milk 
• 1 ½  oz peppermint vodka
• 1 ½ oz salted caramel Irish cream

Toppings:

• Chocolate syrup
• Whipped cream
• Crushed candy canes
• Toasted marshmallows
• Chocolate Pirouette cookie

Directions:

1. In mug, stir together heated milk, hot chocolate packet, peppermint vodka, and salted caramel Irish cream
2. Coat rim of glass with chocolate syrup
3. Fill glass with mixture 
4. Top with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, crushed candy canes, toasted marshmallows, chocolate Pirouette cookie
5. Enjoy!
