When Brady Bowmer first walked onto the field with his camera months ago, he never imagined where it would lead. He is now a welcome figure at Celina ISD athletic events. Baseball player Jackson Rooker said of Brady, who also serves as a baseball team manager, “We love Brady because he adds another personality to our team and he really cares about us. He’s the best manager we could ask for and he captures the great moments of our season.” Brady, a junior at Celina High School [CHS], has lived in Celina his whole life and remembers his dad always had a camera at his games.

Perhaps it was the memory of this that inspired Brady to start his journey into photography.  His dad showed him how to work the camera and he supplemented that instruction with YouTube videos. When asked how he started shooting photos of Celina ISD athletes, he shrugs, “I just walked out with my camera and started taking pictures. No one stopped me so I kept going.” He tries to make it to as many games across as many sports as he can. Viewing the dropbox linked in his instagram bio, you’ll see photos divided by sport and including special events. In addition to sports photos, he also shares photos from half-time, pep rallies, and parade performances of Las Gatitas and the CHS Cheer Team.

After high school, Brady plans to attend college majoring in photography or find a job in sports photography. While we know his future is bright, we’ll continue to enjoy his work with our Celina Bobcats for the next couple of years.
