While Brett Haber’s career takes him across the globe, bringing the world of tennis into millions of homes, it is at home in Potomac where he feels firmly grounded.
A 17-time Emmy Award-winning broadcaster, Haber has built a distinguished career in sports media. Early in his journey, he earned recognition as a host on SportsCenter, where his work garnered one of first Emmy awards, setting the stage for a career that would span over three decades, and multiple cities across the country, including time at local and national networks in New York City and Washington DC.
While his resume is diverse, covering many sports over the years, he has always had a special interest in tennis coverage from early on at ESPN, and as a host and play-by-play announcer for NBC’s Olympic coverage. His love of the sport ultimately lead to his current role as the lead host and play-by-play announcer at
The Tennis Channel.
While his professional accomplishments are impressive and significant, they are not\ what define him most. In recent years, a more personal passion has taken flight. Haber started taking flying lessons and became a licensed private pilot three years ago. He now flies his Cirrus SR20 all over the country, transforming what began as a personal pursuit into a meaningful avenue for service. Partnering with the non-profit organization Pilots-N-Paws, he flies rescue missions on short notice to transport dogs to their new adoptive homes and
foster families around the country, giving them a second chance.
His aviation efforts have also extended to an humanitarian response. Following devastating hurricane damage in western North Carolina in 2024, the Habers personally flew essential supplies they collected from local friends, family, and neighbors, including food, diapers, toiletries, and pet provisions directly into impacted communities, delivering aid where it was most urgently needed. For Haber, flying is not about escape, it is about access, and the ability to respond, to contribute, and to make a tangible difference.
That same ethos defines his life at home. Together, he and Kim remain actively engaged with local organizations such as The Anchor Fund, Junior Tennis Champions Center, and The Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, supporting initiatives that strengthen both individuals and the broader community.
Though his work regularly places him on the world stage, it is his commitment to service, philanthropy, and community that most clearly defines him. Whether in the cockpit, in the broadcast booth, or at home in Potomac, Brett Haber has built a life centered not just on achievement, but on impact.
