As a well-known and respected luxury event planner, Brittany Ford has long been the go-to manager of upscale celebrations, including a Real Housewives finale and numerous celebrity weddings.
After her 2024 engagement to Ben Ford, she spent a year carefully mapping out her own nuptials, with the advantage of having access to the best videographers, photographers, makeup artists, and wardrobe designers she regularly works with in her business.
Brittany and Ben had been classmates in middle school in Culpeper, Virginia, and both come from law enforcement families. However, they didn’t reconnect until years later via Facebook, and that’s when they began dating.
The first step in planning her wedding was organizing her engagement party in August 2024, with 180 guests at a location near their home in Ashburn, Virginia. It was a full production, complete with catering, beautiful floral arrangements, photography, and videography, thanks to Chris Hiltz, owner of TLIC Media.
Brittany jokes that hers was truly a tri-state wedding. The first ceremony was held in a small chapel in Virginia, where her father walked her down the aisle.
The next two events were lavish celebrations for friends and family. For the Outer Banks celebration, Brittany secured the largest rental home available: a 36-bedroom beachfront estate with an arcade, movie theater, and expansive pool. Her goal? “To bring D.C. to the Outer Banks,” she said.
The wedding week kicked off with a welcome pool party, cocktail party, rehearsal dinner, and live entertainment from Junie Henderson of the go-go band Experience Unlimited (EU).
The big day was hosted at Roanoke Island Festival Park, offering an unforgettable experience for their 120 guests. Cocktail hour featured Dom Pérignon champagne, caviar bumps, and a raw bar. Floral installations included a 12-foot chandelier and a 24-foot-long floral structure suspended over the head table. Dinner included custom cocktails and a trio of entrées, beef tenderloin, lamb, and branzino. Guests received custom perfumes by Bontu Itano, each engraved with the Ford name. The festivities concluded with a farewell brunch the next day, with shuttle buses transporting guests to and from each event.
For a more intimate setting that reflected their shared love of classic architecture, antiques, and old-school romance, Brittany and Ben selected The Greenbrier, a luxury resort in Greenbrier County, West Virginia, as their final wedding destination.
Guests were asked to wear all-black attire. Ben wore four custom-made tuxedos throughout the events, while Brittany’s wardrobe included Jimmy Choo and Louboutin heels, Chanel handbags, and her signature scent, Delina by Parfums de Marly. She wore five different designer dresses, each purchased at Elegance by Roya in Tysons Corner.
The couple’s stunning cover photo was taken in their suite, the Greenbrier’s Presidential Suite, at a cost of $25,000 per day.
For her departure photo from the suite, Brittany wore a breathtaking, custom 12-foot ostrich feather cape designed by Suigens, which enveloped her exquisite bridal gown.
