Bucket Lists

Graduating 2020 Seniors Still Check Off Items While Quarantined

While it's been popular in the past to execute a meticulously constructed Seniors' Bucket List, the unusual situation prompted by school shutdowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic sure rearranged those lists for 2020 graduates. But local seniors didn't let that stop them!

Some seniors organized a time to park their vehicles at school parking lots to take a different type of class photo. Parades with decorated vehicles occurred. Lots of marathon chats were conducted. Others made time to still go to schools to jump off their favorite iconic spots or to throw their graduation hats into the air. Yet others drew up a different type of Senior Bucket List while under quarantine.

To some degree, this year's lists reflected a nod back to many childhood favorite activities, a different sort of completing a loop in life.

The 2020 Bucket List items included activities such as:

  • Taking virtual senior trips to beaches, museums, zoos and attractions around the globe.
  • Creating home spas.
  • Baking cookies.
  • Listening to lots of podcasts.
  • Making or decorating masks.
  • Reading (and finishing) books.
  • Practicing yoga.
  • Having breakfast for supper.
  • Flying kites.
  • Finishing actual puzzles.
  • Drawing chalk messages on sidewalks.
  • Walking around the block.
  • Conducting science experiments.
  • Blowing bubbles.
  • Playing yard games.
  • Making blanket forts.
  • Writing creative emails and texts to friends.
  • Shooting hoops, but for long periods of time.
  • Participating in online exercise videos.
  • Getting out crafts' sets.
  • Cooking with family, with or without social media platforms.
  • Making paper airplanes.
  • Watching home movies.
  • Helping neighbors.
  • Learning how to bake bread.
  • Spending all day in pajamas, day after day.
  • Playing lockdown movie bingo.
  • Playing cards.
  • Watching clouds.
  • Trying ping pong ball painting.
  • Planting seeds.
  • Making crazy pizzas from scratch.
  • Soaking in the beauty of sunsets.
