Making a home gym can be challenging, but these tips are a great starting place

  1. Pick your space - Some people think you need an entire extra room in order to have a home gym, but you don’t have to dedicate that much space to it. You could use part of a bedroom, backyard, garage, etc. My home gym is in the garage, but I also have to use some of the space for storage cabinets.

  2. Choose your products - Depending on the space you have, pick 1 or 2 items that are the most important to you. These items might be a little bigger such as a treadmill, squat rack, spin bike, Pilates reformer, etc. Then, pick some space-saver items like adjustable-weight dumbbells, squat racks that tuck into the wall, foldable walking pads, resistance bands, etc.

  3. Make it inviting - If you make your space feel inviting, you will be more motivated to work out in it. I have a fun neon sign, an oil diffusor, and a bright speaker that all get me excited to go use my gym. If you use your treadmill as a coat hanger, you are less likely to want to use it.
