"I have the best job in the world," declares one Frisco-headquartered reproductive endocrinologist. "It's amazing to see people grow their families, and wonderful to be able to help them."
Dorette Noorhasan, M.D., is board-certified in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, and serves as CCRM Fertility Dallas-Fort Worth’s medical director and co-founder at 8380 Warren Parkway, Ste. 201, in Frisco.
"When there's nothing someone wants more than to start or grow their family, fertility issues are the most frustrating and heartbreaking obstacles to encounter. But fortunately, there is hope," she says.
As a fertility doctor who struggled through her own journey to motherhood, Dr. Noorhasan confirms she knows what it's like to be on both sides of an exam table and to walk that hard-to-navigate type of life path. Her most recent book, The Fertility Manual: Reproductive Options for Your Family, draws upon her unique bank of knowledge and experience to explore all the options.
Known as one of the most qualified, experienced fertility specialists in North Texas, Dr. Noorhasan guides readers through fertility testing and treatments in language that's easy for those without a medical background to follow and understand. "I equip you with the right tools and questions to bring to your doctor so you can continue on your journey to parenthood with strength and courage," she explains.
Helping families blossom is what Dr. Noorhasan does best. As an OB-GYN with specialist training, she says she pours her energy and care into educating, encouraging, advising and supporting people who want to bring a new life into the world.
Ironically, she herself didn't have an easy pregnancy. In a raw, honest and emotional narrative within her first book, Miracle Baby: A Fertility Doctor's Fight for Motherhood, Dr. Noorhasan shares her life story, from her childhood in St. Croix to her professional success as a doctor in the United States. She delves into her personal challenges with the many options she tried before successfully bringing her son into the world via surrogacy. In telling her story, she sheds much-needed light on an often silent struggle, a struggle that approximately one in six women experience.
Miracle Baby: A Fertility Doctor's Fight for Motherhood, she assures, offers comfort and insight to those who have been fighting for a family that "they are not alone."
Both of Dr. Noorhasan's books are available from Barnes & Noble, as well as online at Amazon and Noorhasan.com.
"The manual is less than 100 pages, and makes a caring gift for someone seeking answers and assistance," she says.
Dr. Noorhasan received her undergraduate degree summa cum laude from the University of the Virgin Islands and attended medical school at Boston University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at the University of Texas, Houston, and her fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Noorhasan consistently receives honors and awards acknowledging her achievements, including D Magazine Top Doctors in both Dallas and Collin counties, Texas Monthly Top Doctors, Mom-Approved Doctors by DFW Child Magazine, Collin County Top Doctors, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 Castle Connolly Top Doctors and Castle Connolly Top Doctors Exceptional Women in Medicine.
Because CCRM has its own state-of-the-art IV lab and quality testing, Dr. Noorhasan says the clinic's pregnancy success rate is high, and that the team leads many scientific studies. CCRM Fertility Dallas-Fort Worth Main Center is part of the CCRM Fertility network. She adds that CCRM offers its patients best-in-class patient care and access to a network of award-winning physicians, a full suite of fertility services, innovative technology and cutting-edge labs.
"We have a helpful, large network, including Toronto, and as a designated Center of Excellence we also are of the size that we have negotiating power with insurance companies for tier one," she adds.
The 8,000-square-foot CCRM facility in Frisco houses an all-inclusive fertility treatment center with a dedicated on-site physician team, IVF laboratory, procedures area, on-site lab embryologist and comprehensive diagnostic services.
Dr. Noorhasan says several lifestyle factors can affect a woman's ability to conceive, such as environmental damage, especially from plastics, inhaling toxic pollutants, access to clean nutrition and following balanced diets. In fact, she's completed extra hours of education at the American College of Lifestyle Medicine so she can educate her patients about healthy lifestyles, including beneficial antioxidants. "Our bodies also sense when we're under stress and can shut down functions to just what biological activities thought needed to individually survive, and reproduction isn't one of those immediate needs," she explains.
The clinic also assists females facing cancer, who may want to preserve eggs to avoid them going through chemotherapy and other harsh medical treatments. Or, females who have planned a child or children for later in their lives.
The CCRM Fertility Dallas-Fort Worth medical team vows they are dedicated to continuing to give outstanding care to not only those in the Metroplex area but other places within the United States and ultimately all over the world. "We're committed to consistently investing in new proprietary technology and scientific techniques that translate into superior outcomes and a family’s fastest path to a healthy baby," states this compassionate doctor.
"We have such a good time seeing pictures of the babies as they're growing up. Our team often says we wish we could have an exclusive daycare with them as extended family members, so we could stop by often and play with them," smiles Dr. Noorhasan.
"I truly believe it takes an empathetic, supportive community to bring a new life into the world."
