Nestled in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, Dripping Springs has long been a magnet for those seeking a tranquil lifestyle without sacrificing the finer things. It’s a place where families can thrive, dreams are built from the ground up, and the community remains at the core of its identity. John Siemering, founder of John Siemering Homes and Dripping Springs resident, shares his journey, his commitment to quality, and the bright future he sees for this town.
John’s work in luxury home building and real estate development brings a unique blend of quality and timelessness. He prides himself in providing the best stewardship possible of his clients’ money while maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship. His business is built on trust and referrals from architects, real estate agents, and most importantly, former clients.
Dripping Springs, a town that balances growth with preserving its Hill Country charm, is at the heart of his mission. John envisions an oasis for those seeking a small-town feel with modern amenities. “People want more land, a bigger place, and a laid-back atmosphere,” he explains. “They want luxury with a quiet touch.” John and his team are committed to maintaining the integrity of the Hill Country while crafting custom, luxury homes that meet the demands of modern living.
Hailing from a farming background in Maxwell, Texas, John’s early years were steeped in the value of hard work. “Growing up on a farm was the best experience of my life,” he fondly recalls. His parents were a team and instilled the virtues of labor and the importance of prayer.
“My parents taught me hard work,” he emphasizes. “There are no hours on a farm; it’s from the time you start to the time you finish.” This work ethic has undoubtedly played a pivotal role in his success.
John moved his family to Dripping Springs in 2010, seeking a smaller school for his three boys. John Siemering Homes is now a family affair. His wife, Colby, and his oldest son work alongside John full time. His middle son is finishing college at Angelo State and playing baseball, where he helped win the Division II championship in 2023. His youngest son works for the company part time while finishing his construction degree.
John was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2019, and Colby with ovarian cancer in 2010. The Siemerings turned to their faith in Jesus and devoted themselves to prayer. “Colby and I believe in the power of prayer,” says John. With faith, determination and the support of their family and friends, John and Colby beat the odds and survived cancer. Their unwavering belief in the healing power of Jesus remains an integral part of their lives. They have a healing prayer ministry called Activate Heaven Ministries that helps others persevere through life’s challenges.
One of John’s guiding principles in business is simple yet profound: treat people right. He has cultivated strong relationships with his tradesmen and vendors, understanding their loyalty is earned through respect and kindness. “If you treat them well, they will show up for you,” he says.
“Dripping Springs is still a small town,” he observes. “It’s a place where you can enjoy the security of a close-knit community and the distinct Hill Country ambiance. The school district is renowned for its quality, and the town’s blend of small-town charm with modern amenities makes it a unique and attractive destination.”
John embodies the spirit of Dripping Springs—a place where faith, hard work, and a commitment to community drive success. As he continues to build dreams and homes, he remains dedicated to preserving the essence of the Hill Country that so many hold dear.
