Like many Dripping Springs locals, HOSS Straps founder Josh Landry considers himself a hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman, spending as much time as possible in the field and on the water.
When he grew frustrated with outdoor gear straps that failed and malfunctioned, he set out to create a better solution. Landry designed and developed HOSS Straps, a patented strap system built to securely hold everything from coolers and buckets to fuel tanks and essential gear. The product line also includes rugged dog gear designed for man’s best friend and the demands of the Hill Country lifestyle.
“Dogs don’t care what looks good on a shelf. They swim, run through brush, hunt, train, and get dirty,” Landry explains. “We wanted to build products that could handle those environments while remaining comfortable, easy to clean, and dependable for owners.”

Landry spends time utilizing the product demos and discussing with a variety of users—from everyday dog owners to professional trainers, hunting guides, law enforcement handlers, and military K9 teams—to identify areas where improvements can be made.

The HOSS Straps heavy-duty collar is designed to work seamlessly with the Adapter Kit, allowing dog owners to securely attach a Tractive GPS tracker to their dog’s collar.

“We don’t build products for a catalog photo. We build products for real people doing real things outdoors,” says Landry.
Landry enjoys the creative side of product development and the challenge of solving real-world problems, and he is constantly growing the business with new products and improvements.
