“Construction built from excellence” embodies the philosophy of Creative Woodworks in Moorpark, where for almost four decades customers have gone for top quality custom cabinetry and storage solutions to modernize their homes and businesses.
“Everything is built in the USA in our factory—nothing is imported; it’s all sourced domestically,” says Creative Woodworks Owner Brett Hawse, a former customer who bought the 30-plus-year-old business in 2017 after being impressed by the superior quality and craftsmanship of the product.

“I especially like the moment at the end of the project when the clients see their space come together—it’s a very emotional experience to see their new kitchen or bathroom, and they’re so excited!” says Brett, who took time out of his busy schedule to share some information about Creative Woodworks.
Q. What services does Creative Woodworks offer?
A. We are a full-service custom cabinetry maker, handling everything from design, fabrication, installation and finish. From start to finish, we use solid hardwoods to design custom woodworking for kitchens, bathrooms, vanities, bars, storage solutions, molding and paneling.
Q. What do your customers like most about Creative Woodworks?
A. Customers like to see what their project is going to look like in advance. We use state-of-the-art software to design the space; a 2D rendering becomes a 3D rendering, so a client can see what it’s going to look like and customize. Clients absolutely love the quality of the product, which is second to none. Using the 3D rendering allows us to maximize the space, so it’s not just cookie cutter, rather we match the dimensions.
Q. How does a customer get started in designing custom cabinets or storage units?
A. We start with a consultation. A member of our staff visits the space, takes a rough measurement and discusses design options. Customers can also bring in photos and measurements and we will provide an estimate.
Q. How does Creative Woodworks stand apart?
A. We use the best quality materials and we have an 11,000-square-foot facility with commercial grade equipment, including two CNC machines, which is a special piece of high tech machinery that allows us to make precise cuts to fit exact specifications.
Q. What can you tell us about your staff?
A. My employees are my mentors; there’s a lot of people here that have been doing this a long time and I learn every day from the people that work with me.
We have a staff of about 40 full-time employees, between sales, design, detail, fabricators, finishers, installers—they’re all knowledgeable, skilled and experienced. Many of them have been here for 10 and 20 years!
