One of the things we love about New Mexico is the large arts and crafts community, and the abundance of fine art galleries, exhibits, and craft festivals. It provides holiday gifting opportunities that would be hard to find anywhere else, and it gives us the chance to support local businesses. Moreover, we are often able to meet the people who are creating these pieces face-to-face, and get the background on the inspiration for their creative expressions...a story to pass along with the gift that makes it even more special.
Many New Mexico artists are from the 19 Pueblos in the state, significantly influencing the local artistic styles with traditional designs, and often finding international renown.
