Fitness is a big deal to many people as they seek to live long, healthy lives, but the city of Sarasota seems to have more gyms than the norm. Research led to a count of more than 100 fitness centers/gyms in the region. They all have different styles, but with one focus, to get the neighborhood healthy and robust, one person, at a time. Here is a guide to the most popular Sarasota gyms, their various programs, and how to get involved.

Crunch Gym is popular here because it offers personalized training and open gym services in a no-judgment environment.

Evo Gym can be pretty intense, primarily since it trains children to tackle ninja warrior obstacles. Their equipment is state of the art, with programs designed for kids of all ages.

At Youfit Gym, you must make a reservation, but you have up to two hours to get your groove on. The gym is open, so there is no specific routine; you just do what suits you.

Around the Clock Gym, as the name suggests, is always open and offers personal training, e-coaching, group fitness classes, plus boot camp. You can even grab your healthy meals at their full-service juice bar and deli. Plus, you can leave your children in the kid's zone for free once you're a member.

Gym Source not only builds gyms across the country but also offers fitness solutions for homes and commercial entities. Residents of Sarasota benefit from after-sale support for their fitness products.

There is only one Punch Kettlebell Sarasota gym, and it trains students of multiple age levels for powerlifting and strength competitions or personal strength building. A coach stayed with the trainee at all times to keep them on track and motivated.

Most centers require gym membership unless you are using a guest pass. Others have daily rates, but you miss out on the membership perks. Several gyms are entirely outdoors, while others offer outdoor activities additionally. Let's take a walk or run through a few Sarasota gym types and how they benefit you.

Climbing Gyms

Forty-three gyms in the beautiful city of Sarasota say they facilitate climbing. However, there are also gyms that have massive areas for climbing, which can be intense. For liability purposes, most gyms let you bring a rope or equip you with one. Climbing gyms are a little more costly than the others due to the amount of vertical space required, and finding an affordable location to accommodate them is virtually impossible. There are two main types of climbing: rock and boulder.

Rock Climbing Gyms

Rock climbers will not have a hard time finding a fitness center/gym to get their exercise going. There are eight rock climbing gyms, including one across Tampa Bay near Tropicana Field. Most climbers are very friendly, so going there can serve a dual purpose of fitness and building friendships. For new climbers, there is always someone to offer tips. Choose a rock climbing gym if you love the outdoors and want to get some climbing practice in and to build biceps, quads, calves, abs, etc. There are professionals to help you, and in case you do not see it on a website, you should wear leggings, shorts, or loose pants—the more breathable the fabric or flexible, the better.

Bouldering Gyms

The same Sarasota gyms that offer rock climbing offer bouldering, which makes sense. Bouldering gyms are very intense. The exercise strengthens all the body’s major muscles. It also puts immense pressure on your arms, shoulders, and back. Fitness buffs seem to love those types of Sarasota gyms because they keep flocking them. It's also a great way to shed a few pounds.

Boxing Gyms

Quite a few gyms offer boxing in Sarasota. Still, only eight gyms are fully dedicated to the sport, including Gulf Gate Boxing, Jaco Boxing and Fitness, and Absolute Boxing and Fitness. These clubs have some rave reviews due to their techniques, personalized attention, and small classes. While boxing can be a challenging sport, the boxing gyms in Sarasota make it a fun experience for those who do not intend to pursue the sport professionally.

Crossfit Gyms

These are some of the most sought after Sarasota gyms. Crossfit gyms are for adults and children, and the gyms here have a very diverse group of trainees and many supportive coaches. The gyms focus on both strength and conditioning with high-intensity training. They are types of movements done daily but with more force at the gym. The moves include squatting, pushing, and pulling, then moves on to weight lifting.

 American Ninja Warrior Gyms

In recent years Ninja warrior training has become popular, especially as the TV show gains traction worldwide. Many people want to see if they can conquer the obstacles, some for clout, and others to get on the show.

There's only one American Ninja Warrior gym in Sarasota, and it's EVO Athletics. For parents who want their children pampered, this is not the place. EVO is an elite gym that trains children to be competitive so that it will get intense. The coaching staff has international recognition, and the equipment is of a high standard.

They also offer cheerleading, gymnastics, and volleyball training.

It's understandable why Sarasota has so many gyms since it's one of the top places to live in Florida, and people need to maintain the image there. Finding a Sarasota gym should be pretty easy, regardless of your fitness preferences.
