1. Create an epic snack bar
Win the fam over immediately by putting together a DIY snack bar for the kiddos. Because who doesn’t love snacks? Use brown paper lunch sacks, organic products like Chocolove Chocolate (oohhh….delish!) and wooden skewers.
2. Pitch your tent
Set your tent up with playful and comfy items from your house. Add chair coverings and toss couch pillows on the ground for added cushioning. If you have camping blankets, now’s a great time to pull them out. Popcorn served in a brown paper bag makes the night more festive.
3. Roast ‘em if you got ‘em
Send the kids on a mission to look for sticks or use wet skewers to roast marshmallows over the grill or in the chimenea to create the trifecta of goodness: graham cracker + marshmallow + chocolate square. Instant happiness in your mouth.
4. Cozy up the yard
Set up a picnic blanket and chairs. Bring out camping mugs or thermoses filled with hot cocoa (always a hit with the littles) and some whiskey on the rocks for mom and dad (clink, clink, cheers!). Have any yard games stashed in your garage like corn hole, ring toss, or croquet? Bring them out! Even something as simple as a soccer ball can add an extra layer of fun. Old pillowcases make for great sack races too.
5. Start a band (or just press play on Spotify)
Bring the instruments outside and play under the stars or read a book together in the tent. Use a flashlight to tell a silly ghost story to the young ones or tell a spooky tale to tweens. Or lighten the workload completely and just press play on our Boulder Lifestyle Summer Camping Playlist on Spotify to ensure your vibe is just right.
