Caring for Every Smile

Dr. Laura Loftin reflects on how she continues her family’s legacy of compassionate dental care

With a focus on compassionate, patient-centered care, Dr. Laura Loftin brings over fifteen years of experience to the Fort Worth community through Laura Loftin Dentistry. In this month’s Q&A, she shares insight into her background and the values that shape her practice.

You're a third-generation dentist. Why did you choose to follow the same career path as your father and grandfather?

I had the privilege of witnessing, firsthand, the kind of impact this profession can have. Dentistry was never just a career in our family, it was a way of showing up for others. I watched as my father and grandfather built trust with their patients, cared for generations of families, and led with integrity and compassion every single day.

I often find myself in moments of growth and challenge coming back to the examples they set – humility, consistency, and the willingness to keep learning. They taught me that excellence in this field isn’t measured by what you know alone, but by the trust you build and the care you give.

What do you love about what you do?

What I love the most is the opportunity, every single day, to truly change someone’s life --whether that be easing years of dental anxiety, relieving TMJ pain, creating a smile that completely restores someone’s confidence, or getting to be part of a child’s first dental experience. These are some of the moments that make this work so meaningful to me, and I’m incredibly grateful to do it all alongside a team that genuinely feels like family.

Why did you choose general and cosmetic dentistry?

I was drawn to both general and cosmetic dentistry because I love the balance it creates. There truly is something so rewarding about being able to help patients maintain their health and feel at ease but also being able to completely transform the way they see themselves through their smile. Having the opportunity to do both allows me to make an impact in subtle and life-changing ways.

What makes your practice unique?

We’ve always been intentional about creating a space where patients feel cared for and understood. We’ve worked diligently to create an environment that feels calm and supportive, especially for those patients who may feel anxious or have past dental trauma. From our carefully curated comfort menu to the way we provide personalized care for everyone that walks through our doors, every detail is designed to help patients feel at ease and confident in their experience with us. Our practice takes great pride in helping patients graduate from fear to confidence, often transforming the way they experience dentistry altogether.

How are you involved in the local community?

I’m very involved in my children’s school, including being part of the PTA, and in our precious neighborhood community. I sincerely value the relationships at the heart of what I do, and the sense of connection that often carries beyond our office.

What would you love readers to know?

When you become a patient at Laura Loftin Dentistry, you’re not just another appointment, you’re part of our family. We care about you as a whole person, not just your dental needs. That’s why I always make myself accessible to my patients, even sharing my personal cell phone, so they always feel supported and never alone in their care. As a practice, we strive to create an experience that is rooted in comfort, trust, and connection so that every patient that sits in our chair feels seen, heard, and cared for long after their visit with us.
