Carrie Evatz opened Pure Beauty and Wellness Center in May 2015. She left her full-time position to start her own business. Carrie always wanted to own her own practice. “It is so rewarding to be able to work for yourself and set your own standards.” Carrie is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner who wanted to give women options in boutique and alternative medicine. “Traditional medicine wasn’t offering what women needed so I knew that the door was open.”
Pure, which is primarily a female-based practice, is a medical spa that specializes in cosmetic injections and anti-aging aesthetic services as well as offering a variety of skincare and beauty enhancement products. Ninety percent of Pure’s customers/patients are female. Carrie has created the practice “by appointment only” so she and her staff could have more flexibility to meet their demanding lives.
Carrie is extremely active in community engagement. She is involved in an organization that supports domestic violence survivors and runs the St. Clair Shores Chapter of Girlboss Detroit, a mentorship group for women business owners. Both Organizations help women in a variety of instrumental ways. Carrie feels blessed to be where she is today and wants to give back to women. “It is empowering for me to build others up,” she says. Her message to women is to “think big but dream BIGGER.” And most importantly, “Do not let life’s hurdles stop you from achieving your goals and dreams.”
Carrie lives in Grosse Pointe Shores with her husband John and son Lucas. Pure is located at 23000 Greater Mack Avenue, Suite 100 in St. Clair Shores. @purebeautymi
