“I wish I could afford Caruso Cabinets,” said a high school friend of Tom Caruso, owner of Caruso Cabinets in Avon. This, unfortunately, is not the first time Tom has heard this common misconception, and it is one he would like to dispel.

“I get this often,” Caruso said, and went on to explain that people think they can’t afford to shop at small, family-owned businesses and that their dollar will go farther at a ‘big box’ or ‘warehouse’ store. Tom acknowledges that there are occasions when the price is lower elsewhere, but he also highlights the many instances where he has enhanced a design and provided a better product at a lower price. He wants people to know the differences between these two retail  experiences.

“First of all, we have over 37 years of experience designing kitchens, bathrooms, and more.” Caruso estimates that in those years he has completed more than 7,000 kitchens all over northern Ohio. The design team at Caruso’s has the ability to design with budget in mind while working with made-to-order cabinetry. What does this mean for the consumer? Caruso explained that many large businesses work with in-stock inventory, which limits the buyer to a simple design, often without the symmetry, balance, or latest features that he can offer. With over 10,000 door, color, and wood combinations, the options are limitless at Caruso’s. Tom prides himself on his close relationships with his cabinet manufacturers, also family-owned American companies. These relationships are instrumental in providing the seamless service that distinguishes him from other businesses. “We are going to take care of the customer from start to finish, and in the unlikely event that there is a problem, we can replace the item with an exact match, which is not always possible when working with imported or stock materials.”

Given all that he has to offer, why have we not seen Caruso Cabinets advertised all over TV
and billboards? Tom has an easy explanation for that. “The cost of advertising is passed on to the consumer. Why would we do that when word of mouth from happy customers has always been our best form of advertising?” Tom also points to his A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau as further proof of customer satisfaction.

Caruso Cabinets has built a stellar reputation for exceptionally crafted products. With a dedication to quality and personalized service, this family-owned business has been transforming kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and more for over two decades.
