The holiday season is upon us, bringing joy, laughter, and a flurry of activities. However, amidst the hustle and bustle, it's crucial not to neglect the most important person – you. As a licensed esthetician, I understand the significance of self-care and maintaining a radiant complexion during the holidays. Let's embark on a journey to discover the secrets of embracing self-care and achieving beautiful, glowing skin throughout this festive season.

1.   Staying on your skincare routine is Key: The cold winter air and indoor heating can wreak havoc on your skin, leading to dryness and dehydration. Counteract this by staying well-hydrated from the inside out. Make a conscious effort to drink plenty of water, herbal teas, and hydrating fluids. Additionally, invest in a good medical grade skincare routine ( my favorites are Hydrinity and ZO) to lock in that precious hydration and keep your skin supple and glowing.

2.   Mindful Skincare Routine: Amidst the holiday chaos, it's easy to overlook your skincare routine. However, consistency is key to maintaining healthy skin. Stick to your daily cleansing, toning, and moisturizing routine. If you're attending holiday parties, consider adding a gentle exfoliation step to ensure your skin is a flawless canvas for makeup application.

3.   Pamper Yourself to an Express Facial: Treat yourself to a spa day with nourishing professional grade products. Set aside some quiet time, while we play soothing music, and let the facial work its magic while you unwind.

4.   Protect Your Skin: While the winter sun may not be as intense as in the summer, UV rays can still damage your skin. Don't forget to apply sunscreen, especially if you're spending time outdoors during holiday events. Sunscreen is a year-round necessity for maintaining youthful and healthy skin.

5.   Restful Beauty Sleep: In the midst of holiday festivities, it's easy to compromise on sleep. However, your skin relies on adequate rest to repair and regenerate. Aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep each night to ensure your skin stays radiant and refreshed.

6.   Healthy Eating Habits: The holidays often bring a tempting array of sugary treats and indulgent feasts. While it's okay to enjoy these in moderation, remember that what you eat directly impacts your skin's health. Incorporate antioxidant-rich foods, such as fruits and vegetables, into your diet to promote a clear and glowing complexion.

7.   Stress Management: The holiday season can be stressful, but chronic stress can take a toll on your skin. Practice stress-management techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, or a relaxing skincare routine to keep stress levels in check. Your skin will thank you for it.

As a licensed esthetician, my mission is to empower you to embrace self-care and achieve radiant, healthy skin throughout the holiday season. By incorporating these skincare tips and fostering a mindful approach to self-care, you'll not only look great but also feel refreshed and ready to make the most of this festive time. So, glow on, and let your inner beauty shine as brightly as the holiday lights! To create a holiday smell in your home use a large stock pot fill it with water some cinnamon sticks and fresh orange slices... let it boil. You will create indoor moisture that your skin will thank you for and your home will smell amazing!
