It’s been a long-standing family tradition to celebrate Mother’s Day with a beautiful Sunday brunch. When we were younger, we would prepare our mom a special breakfast in bed consisting of (possibly burnt) toast with jam, scrambled eggs, and orange juice.

Now that we have explored so many of the restaurants in Dallas and appreciate all of the culinary choices available, we can really spoil our hard-working mothers! We urge you to skip the drugstore greeting card and snooze-worthy flowers that you gift her with every year. Instead, think “outside the brunch” and delight your mom, stepmom, baby-mama, or mother-in-law with one of our Top 5 DFW Mother’s Day Brunch Ideas!

1. Lunch or Dinner Cruise on Lake Ray Hubbard

One might think that a sunset cruise can only be a romantic date night option. Not so! The Sunset or Family Daytime cruises with Sail with Scott are the perfect Mother’s Day adventure. The Seawolf offers guests a 360º view of the lake as you cruise the entire southern section of the beautiful waters of Lake Ray Hubbard. Guests are encouraged to pack a picnic lunch and BYOB! Reservations are still open for Mother’s Day weekend. Book your tickets now. ($25 for adults and $15 for children.)

Before you set sail, don't forget to grab your long-sleeve Brunch Empire t-shirt just in case it gets chilly when the sun goes down!

2. Mother’s Day Drag Brunch at Legacy Hall

Mimosas + Mom + an All-Star cast of Queens. What more could you possibly want? By far the most entertaining Mother’s Day brunch in Dallas, you DO NOT WAIT to reserve your seats. This will be a Mother’s Day she will never forget! Tickets are $45 per person and are sold by the table.

3. Picnic Brunch at Rise and Thyme

Located in the heart of the AT&T Discovery District, Rise and Thyme’s Mother’s Day offering is a creative alternative to the traditional brunch…a picnic basket! Everyone will love the chocolate-covered strawberries and fresh fruit, mixed pastries, a savory charcuterie plate, a Panzanella salad, and a chicken salad sandwich, PLUS a bottle of Rosé that comes with a mimosa kit!! Place your order for this amazing meal by May 5! For only $120, this TO-GO picnic basket will feed four people.

4. Knife

We have exciting news to share. Knife is bringing back brunch just for Mother’s Day! Voted the best steakhouse in Dallas, Knife is not holding back this Mother's Day. Treat mom to a savory pork belly Benedict, sweet brioche French toast, or hearty steak and eggs. She will even get a free mimosa with her meal! Reservations are required for this special event scheduled from 11:30 am to 2 pm on May 9.

5. Eatzi’s Market & Bakery

We took a while to decide on the perfect Brunch Empire "staff pick" for Mother’s Day brunch, but with a unanimous vote, we picked Eatzi's Market and Bakery! We scoured every Mother's Day brunch menu in Dallas and fell in love with everything they are offering ALL WEEKEND LONG! Place your order for take-out before May 8 and indulge in a variety of delectable choices including zucchini & goat cheese quiche, asparagus tart, chateaubriand filet, wagyu sirloin roast, citrus herb turkey breast, raspberry key lime pie, & Mother’s Day Tower of Power cake...just to name a few! Place your order online here.
