Celebrate Hispanic Flavor

Explore Culinary Traditions Of Hispanic Heritage Month With Five Local Restaurants Serving Latin American Flavors

St. Louis is home to a vibrant international food scene, with flavors from around the globe. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, five restaurants offer a taste of the Hispanic and Latin American communities that call St. Louis home.

For Stella Aberastury, owner of Tango Argentina Food, Argentine food is a way to share a piece of home. “Seeing someone’s face after they taste something from my home country, that is everything to me,” she says.

At Ladue Taco, Rodrigo Silva brings Michoacán flavors to St. Louis while adapting the menu to suit local diners. “Not all of our food is exactly the same as what you would find in Michoacán, but I try to bring the food and flavors from there,” he says.

Together, they offer a glimpse of Hispanic and Latin American flavors and traditions across St. Louis.
