Baking cookies, stringing lights, holiday music and eggnog are just a few well-known holiday traditions. If you’re a Johns Creek native, the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra’s (JCSO) annual Christmas Gala Concert is likely on your list of traditions too. Make music a part of your tradition with “O Come, O Come [Emanuel],” Dec. 21 at 7:30 p.m., at Johns Creek United Methodist Church.
Guests return year after year (14th annual) to celebrate the season with the entire family. From listening to joyous sounds of the season to dressing in holiday attire, there is something for all to enjoy.
“The Christmas Gala Concert is a program for everyone. There will be a wide variety of styles performed that relate to all ages,” said Music Director J. Wayne Baughman. “There is no question why this concert has become a tradition to so many Johns Creek residents.”
JCSO is metro Atlanta’s only fully-professional, part-time symphonic orchestra, made up of professional musicians from all over the greater metro Atlanta area. Between the JCSO and the Johns Creek Chorale, more than 150 local artists will participate in this holiday spectacular.
One of those artists will be soprano Bevin Hill. Bill, a Johns Creek native and Woodward Academy graduate. Ms. Hill received her Master's degree in Vocal Performance at Manhattan School of Music under the tutelage of acclaimed soprano and director Catherine Malfitano, and has gained attention as a performer of great charm and charisma in a variety of leading roles. She made her New York City debut as Musetta in La boheme with the Martina Arroyo Foundation. She has also performed Giulietta in I Capuleti e I Montecchi, Ida in Die Fledermaus, and Gretel in Hansel and Gretel with New York’s Lyric Opera at Symphony Space.
