Celebrating the End of Summer

Before backpacks replace beach towels and calendars fill with homework, practices, and routines, make time for a few experiences that create lasting memories and celebrate everything we love about summer.

PLAY -  Have One Last "Yes Day"

Before school schedules reclaim your calendar, surprise the kids with one day that's all about saying "yes." Yes to pancakes for dinner. Yes to ice cream before lunch. Yes to staying up late enough to watch the sunset, catch lightning bugs, or build the biggest blanket fort the family has ever seen. Years from now, they probably won't remember the toys they received or the shows they watched—but they'll remember the day of "yes."

CREATE - Start a Summer Time Capsule

Create a family time capsule you'll look forward to opening next year. Invite everyone to contribute something meaningful—a favorite photo, a ticket stub from a baseball game, a seashell collected on vacation, or a handwritten note about their favorite summer memory. Empty nesters and couples can create one, too, filling it with photos, postcards, menus from memorable dinners, or reminders of adventures shared together. Seal it away until next August.

CONNECT - Sleep Under the Stars

Some of childhood's greatest adventures happen right in the backyard. Pitch a tent, roast marshmallows around the fire pit, tell stories, play flashlight tag, or spread out a blanket and search the night sky for constellations. Add homemade ice cream, a favorite family movie projected outdoors, and breakfast on the patio the next morning for an experience your children won't soon forget.

Even empty nesters can embrace the tradition by enjoying a quiet evening around the fire, watching the stars emerge, or simply lingering on the patio long after sunset.

"As summer quietly slips into fall, don't count the days that are left—make the days that remain count by creating memories your family will cherish for years to come."
