There's a new donut in town, and it does.not.dissapoint. The famous Duck Donut is a freshly-made vanilla cake donut that you coat, top and drizzle as you wish. Originating in Duck, North Carolina, the infamous Duck Donuts came to KC via Katie and Ryan. After vacationing their years ago, the couple quickly fell in love with the hot and fresh breakfast staple, and knew that they had to bring it to back home.
Their first storefront was in Prairie Village, but the delectable donuts were such a hit that a bigger and better shop was needed. When a space became available in Leawood they knew it was the right time to move. The Leawood shop just celebrated their grand opening earlier this month to an eager (and hungry) crowd.
These donuts are no ordinary donuts. They are made to order right in front of you. Nothing is pre-made, nor is anything kept in cases. Their traditional cake based vanilla donuts can be customized with whatever you can dream up. Need help deciding? Best sellers are the cinnamon sugar, maple bacon and blueberry pancake. You had me at bacon. Am I right?
