Dr. Erin Koballa is a North Carolina native who grew up in Wrightsville Beach with her parents and younger sister. After earning her undergraduate degree from Duke, where Erin majored in psychology with a focus on biology and neuroscience, she continued her studies, receiving her veterinary degree from NC State University.
While pursuing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, Erin demonstrated her passion for the field by remaining extremely active in campus activities including the Veterinary Business Management Association (VBMA) and the student chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).
Why Open a New Animal Hospital?
Recognizing the need for more animal hospitals in the Charlotte Metro region, Dr. Koballa envisioned creating Charlotte Companion Animal Hospital, seeing it as an opportunity to set the standard for quality animal care. A strong believer in the necessity of forming a foundation of trust and transparency in building the open and authentic customer relationships she so highly values, it is no surprise that Dr. Koballa has a firm understanding of her patients’ needs and the challenges they so often face.
Due to the lack of adequate animal hospitals in Charlotte, pet owners have unfortunately become used to long waits for a “revolving door” level of care that offers little time for honest and open communication with their veterinarian, leaving many to feel as if they have no alternative but to settle for a “revolving door” quality of care. Understandably, this often creates a level of concern, wondering if your furry family member is receiving the best care possible. Dr. Koballa empathizes, acknowledging that proper communication, delivered in a genuine voice expressing her authentic care and concern for each of her patients is key to easing the worries pet owners face.
The Customer Is an Active Part of the Decision-Making Team
Dr. Koballa is a firm believer in the age-old adage that “the customer is always right.” With that philosophy in mind, she and her staff make sure their clients always feel informed about what is happening with their pet’s health and feel empowered to make the best, educated decisions about their care. This desire to provide a place where pet owners could find a trustworthy and dependable animal care facility founded on an inclusive decision-making process and a team-based family-forward mentality combined with a passion for providing above-and-beyond veterinary care is the vision embedded in the roots of Charlotte Companion Animal Hospital.
Above all else, Dr. Koballa is family. Charlotte Companion Animal Hospital is home.
The patient experience at Charlotte Companion Animal Hospital will always be centered on three key things:
1. A true, heartfelt commitment to providing quality care with a passion second to none.
2. An acknowledgment that trust must be earned with consistency and active listening that shows appreciation and excitement for every opportunity given.
3. Genuine relationships based on authenticity and thoughtful communication.
