When only girlfriends will get it, we highly suggest brunch at Gaslight Bar & Grill. These three dishes are their fan favorites for May. 

We stopped in to chat with Dana Gurela at Deep Roots and asked her what she would pour to best enhance these tasty brunch dishes. She not only poured perfect pairings but also introduced us to three wineries driven by women. We'll toast to that!

Cheers, ladies! 

Order: Lobster Benedict

Toasted English muffin served with lobster, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce with a side of crispy breakfast potatoes.

Pair with:

Iron Horse Wedding Cuvée - Female partner/CEO (daughter of the founders), Joy Sterling.

This sparkler has great raspberry aromas, followed by strawberry and a touch of lemon zest. Great red fruit flavors on the front palate that extend to the mid-palate, followed by a burst of red apple and creaminess leading to a grapefruit finish with amazing texture throughout the mouth.

Order: Steak and Eggs

Perfectly prepared 8 oz. prime NY strip with two farm fresh eggs and crispy breakfast potatoes.

Pair with:

Maysara Brut Rosé - Female run winery, the Momtazi sisters: Tahmiene, Winemaker; Naseem, President of Sales; Hannah, Sales & Marketing. A stunning sparkling rosé made with 100% pinot noir grapes that is balanced with high tension acidity and minerality. The fine bubbles keep the aromatics tight with a clean finish of dried cranberries, pomegranate, and wild strawberries.

Order: Red Snapper

Red snapper topped with lemon butter and capers served with chargrilled caesar salad.

Pair with:

Paula Kornell Blanc de Noirs - Female-owned brand by Paula Kornell (a dear friend to the Deep Roots founder, Dana). Aromas of freshly cut hay, lemon, and elderflower. Flavors of citrus with a touch of minerality, crushed seashells, and apple blossom. A delicate yeastiness adds complexity and depth to the wine.
