Follow students of today and tomorrow as Cherokee County celebrates the power of storytelling, creativity, and young filmmakers shaping the future of media. The Cherokee Office of Economic Development is again partnering with Cherokee County School District to host the Cherokee Student Film Festival, a showcase of original films created by talented students from high schools across the county.
Last year, more than 23 student-made films were screened at Woodstock Arts, drawing over 200 attendees who came to cheer on the next generation of creators. The festival provides a unique opportunity for students to apply classroom learning to real-world projects, developing skills in creativity, collaboration, and technical filmmaking.
“We greatly appreciate the valuable partner we have in the COED and its collaboration with our Career Pathway film and video program teachers to make this festival happen,” said Superintendent of Schools Mary Elizabeth Davis. “Our students are learning, growing and achieving more in our classrooms than they could anywhere else through opportunities like this competition.”
Mark your calendars for March 24 at 6 p.m. and join the community in celebrating creativity, innovation, and the inspiring work of our local student filmmakers.
