Art All Night Comes to Chevy Chase — Saturday, September 12, 2026 | 4–10 PM
There is a particular kind of magic that happens when a neighborhood decides, for one night, to become something else entirely. This September, Connecticut Avenue trades its daytime rhythm for something looser, brighter, and altogether more curious — as Chevy Chase Main Street brings Art All Night to our corridor, part of the citywide celebration unfolding across all eight wards of Washington, DC on September 11 and 12.
Ours is the Chevy Chase edition: Saturday, September 12, from 4 to 10 PM, free and open to all who wish to wander.
A Festival Without Walls
Forget the white-cube gallery, the roped-off sculpture garden, the polite hush of "look but don't touch." Art All Night Chevy Chase is built on a different premise entirely — that art belongs in the street, in the storefront, in the space between where you meant to go and where you end up.
Across more than twenty locations along the corridor, the evening unfolds as a kind of choreographed spontaneity: puppetry around one corner, live painting around the next, a burst of improv comedy spilling out of a doorway, a folk trio's harmonies drifting over the sidewalk. The performing arts take center stage — literally, at the evening's Main Stage — but the real pleasure is in the discovery. You are not meant to see it all. You are meant to wander, and let the neighborhood surprise you.
The Lineup
The evening's roster reads like a love letter to local talent and craft. Catch the harmonies of Fanfaire, a folk trio of female multi-instrumentalists; lose yourself in Beech Tree Puppets' staging of The Apple Tree; and let Your Favorite Cookie's Improv Festival catch you off guard. Live music carries the night courtesy of Band Brulee, Nobody's Business, Damion Wolfe, and Breakfast for Dinner, while Jessica Riscitelli Robinson brings the art of storytelling to the street and Wolfe Trivia DC brings the friendly competition.
Beyond the stage, the corridor becomes a playground of craft and color: rock painting with Core72, a vinyl sidewalk sale and listening party from Art Sound Language, an anniversary celebration at Artsy Beast pottery studio, face painting courtesy of Jetties, and a silent disco spanning three music channels at Parthenon and Chevy Chase Lounge. Wheelhouse DC invites guests to try their hand at burgee making, the Chevy Chase DC Neighborhood Library welcomes younger art-lovers with crafts and activities, and hula hoop devotees can join Andie Marczewski for a workshop under the September sky. The Chevy Chase Artist's Gallery rounds out the evening with a showcase of the neighborhood's own visual talent.

Between performances, the neighborhood's restaurants and shops join the celebration with special offerings and promotions of their own — because a proper night out deserves a proper dinner, and this is, after all, still Chevy Chase. The invitation is simple: arrive without an itinerary, let one thing lead to the next, and see where the evening takes you.
