The Chocolate Oliveto

Decadent Drink a Cure for the Wintertime Blues

January in Oklahoma often brings with it little sunshine, icy-cold winds and precip, and it comes at the same time many of us are also experiencing the post-holiday season blues.

The management at Oliveto Italian Restaurant invites our readers to perk up their spirits (and tastebuds) with a delicious dinner followed by an indulgent after-dinner drink at Oliveto Italian Bistro, 1301 S. I-35 Service Road in Moore. Management’s seasonal recommendation: the Chocolate Oliveto, a decadent chocolate martini.

Come in to Oliveto to give it a try, or make your own. Recipe follows.

ingredients:

  • ¾-oz.     Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
  • ¾-oz.     Bushmill’s Irish Liqueur
  • ¾-oz.     Bailey’s Irish Spring
  • 1 ea.      Half and half PC
  • ½-oz.     Chocolate Syrup
  • ½-oz.     Chocolate Syrup for garnish
  • 2 cups   ice

directions:

1. Chill martini glass with ice or use a frozen glass.

2. Fill stainless cocktail shaker with 2 cups of ice. Measure each liqueur/liquor into shaker. Add half-and-half and chocolate syrup.

3. Tap shaker and shake briskly for 15 seconds. Drain martini glass of ice and “paint” the inside of glass with chocolate syrup.

4. Serve immediately.
