What happens when you combine a passion for polo, a heart to serve others, and a fashionable fall event? If you are in Aiken on October 1st, the answer is the Sixth Annual Chukkers of Hope White Party and Polo Match.

The evening will be hosted by Deep Singh, a native of Augusta, Georgia, and resident of Aiken, South Carolina. The event represents the marriage of two things Deep is very passionate about; polo and giving back.

His ardent love for polo began during a stint in Los Angeles, California. He was a member of the California Polo and Will Rogers Polo clubs where he played for several years. When he returned to the east coast, Deep made Aiken his home. He is a member of both the Aiken Polo Club and Wagener Polo Club, where he and his string of horses play. Teams he has competed with have made a number of finals since 2016 including victories in the Copa de Plata, New Bridge Members Cup, USPA Governor’s Cup, USPA Master Cup, and Jake Kneece Memorial Cup!

Deep first became acquainted with the incredible work that St. Jude was doing in the area of childhood cancer awareness while attending the Patrick Warburton Golf Tournament in Palm Springs, California. Intrigued, that event led to a tour of the St. Jude Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. He had the opportunity to engage one on one with some of the young patients in Memphis and felt an instant connection. He became an advocate for St. Jude and has been raising funds for them since 2014.

The Sixth Annual Chukkers of Hope will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and  Aiken-based Great Oak Equine Assisted Programs. Great Oak provides equine-assisted activities that promote the physical, emotional, and psychological health of individuals with special needs. The programs offered at Great Oak have become the catalyst for personal growth for over 60 participants each week.

“I enjoy hosting the Chukkers of Hope event for two main reasons. Most importantly, I truly believe in the great work the St. Jude researchers and doctors do for the courageous children who have this heartbreaking illness. I know any contribution we can make is going towards saving lives. Also, this event is a great way to bring the community together to experience one of the most exciting and oldest sports - polo, ” Deep said when asked about why he hosts the event each year.

Chukkers of Hope will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at La Bourgogne Polo Farm in Aiken and will feature a highly competitive match featuring top American and international polo players and a white dress-themed party, as the sun sets over the breathtaking Carolina countryside. Attendees can expect a fun evening of high-goal polo, dinner, specialty cocktails, a DJ, dancing, a silent auction, and much more. All proceeds benefit, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Aiken-based Great Oak Equine Assisted Programs.

Tickets for this signature Aiken event can be purchased at www.eventbrite.com. For more information about sponsorship opportunities or to donate an item to the silent auction, please contact Katherine Turpin at ChukkersofHope@gmail.com.
