The all-star stylist team at Venice’s Ciao Bella Salon always stays current with contemporary techniques and trends in hairstyling and aesthetics. Offering everything from traditional cuts to edgy fashion colors, Ciao Bella has recently partnered with Sandra Rieth’s Simply Renew Med Spa (also featured in this edition of Venice Lifestyle) to offer Botox, fillers, facials and other aesthetic treatments at Ciao Bella the third Thursday of every month.
“I am really into these new aesthetic treatments,” says Ciao Bella owner, Karen Sheppard. “The fillers and other therapies refresh our faces and stop visible aging. Everyone enjoys these events, and the results they see are exciting.”
Karen’s son, Blaine Benson, and his girlfriend, Olivia Crowley, met at Sarasota’s Fashion Focus Academy. These Ciao Bella stylists have many tips and trends to suggest to their clients.
“I am constantly learning so I can offer more,” Olivia says. “I love doing balayage. It’s basically freehand painting on the hair. It gives that summer, sun-kissed look without being overly dramatic. It’s really hot in the industry right now, and there are so many creations you can make with it.”
Blaine studies new technologies for hair health. “We have a lot of hard water around here,” he explains. “It can turn blonde hair brassy or greenish. I use Malibu C Hard Water Treatment that strips that buildup off the hair and regenerates the color.”
Stylist Brandy Lukyanov enjoys offering her clients a wide range of techniques. “Babylights and Brazilian blowouts are extremely popular in my chair right now,” Brandy says. “The babylighting technique gives the hair a soft, summertime glow. The Brazilian blowout creates shiny, smooth, frizz-free results even with our humidity. Our clients achieve radiant hair with faster drying times and less fuss.”
Ciao Bella’s Marta Prazuch loves doing micro-blading and lash extensions. “I am really excited about the new NovaLash extensions,” Marta says. “They look gorgeous and natural. The new glue lasts two months, not the usual two weeks. Everyone should know about this improvement.”
Finally, master stylist Joe Zottola stresses the importance of communication. “I had a client who felt stuck in her look,” says Joe, who has 37 years of experience. “I consulted with her until she was ready. I took her from long hair to a short, sculpted haircut. She looked like a totally new, younger person, and it made us both happy.”
