At Haven, store owners Michelle DeHaven and Allie Marchese share more than just blood; they share the philosophy that everything in their store should be timeless and tastefully rebellious. Their second storefront in Cherry Creek North reflects just that.

Initially founded in 2016 by Michelle in Boulder, Haven is a lifestyle brand rooted in the philosophy that everything should be classic, but with an edge. Allie left her corporate finance career in the spring of 2021 to join her mother Michelle in their pursuit of finding all things effortlessly beautiful. Their second location in Cherry Creek North opened in late November 2021 with the same goal in mind.

The mother-daughter duo works to ensure that their vision is always a reflection of what you find in the store; from the items and brands they carry to the way they respect each other and their clientele. Haven’s first retail location was opened with the intention of bringing a highly-edited selection of beautiful, well-made offerings to the community.

“We consider ourselves a lifestyle brand and a one-stop shop,” Allie says, who works as Haven’s managing director. “You can pick up a breezy dress for your trip to Mexico, a stunning gift for your client or host, grab some gorgeous candles for the office, and maybe a pillow from Morocco for your guest room. We are drawn to all things handmade, bespoke and globally inspired.”

The new Cherry Creek North location is a modern 3,000-square-foot space with a “garage” glass bay door in the rear. Allie and Michelle intend to fill this display with new and vintage furniture and globally inspired home goods and plants, in addition to their current offerings. This space will stand apart from the Boulder storefront with the new display featuring these items.

When asked what inspired the beginning of Haven, Allie explains how it started with their love of hunting and sourcing beautiful and unique things, from clothing designers to vintage objects. “Even baby alpaca blankets and beyond,” Allie explains. “We wanted to bring all these offerings to the community.”

At Haven, consumers will find an appealing and unique mix of goods. Your new go-to handbag and favorite denim are found alongside colorful Moroccan cactus silk pillows. An eclectic mix of globally inspired homeware is strategically displayed throughout the store, intermixed with vintage finds, all of which could qualify as the perfect gift.

Haven also carries the very best selection of apothecary items rooted in all things botanical. “We look for brands with a story and aim to work with makers who value sustainability,” Allie says. “We want all things small-batch and handmade.”

Haven stands out because of the time and energy put into its buying process. They source things from indie designers, are always on the search for globally inspired pieces, and want to know where pieces come from and how they’re made.

“The care we put into our buying process is what makes Haven so special and exciting,” Allie says.

Beyond placing the utmost importance in the items and brands they carry, Allie and Michelle both acknowledge the responsibility they hold in curating the client experience.

“We try to help our clients in all the ways, and to be a trusted resource for all of the things,” they say. “We are friendly, welcoming and will always go the extra mile for clients.”

Haven’s mission continues to drive forward because of the mother-daughter dynamic found between Michelle and Allie. Their shared passion enables their vision to grow and change as they do. At the root of it, they love and respect each other.

“It’s been a complete dream, working with my mom,” Allie reflects. “I love and respect her so much. Learning from her and this business has been like a full MBA in a year, and I’m still learning every day.”

Michelle echoes Allie’s sentiment. “It’s a dream come true in so many ways, and I’m thankful every day that she is by my side."

The Cherry Creek North storefront is located at 257 Fillmore Street
