Four years ago, Becky married her sweetheart, Aaron Nuttall, in a beautiful and personalized ceremony and reception in Denver, CO. Shortly after, the newlyweds moved to Colorado Springs full of joy to begin their married adventure together.
They quickly realized that the Springs was missing something that had made their own story so special: an urban wedding venue similar to the one that they made their own vows in.
Memorable Celebrations
Becky Nuttall has been in the wedding industry for 15 years as a fine art photographer, and opening an easy-to-personalize wedding venue has been something she has wanted to do for several years. But, she and Aaron thought it was a “one-day dream and something to do in our third act,” she explained. But they realized Colorado Springs needed this special place for memorable celebrations.
In August 2020, CLAY Venues opened its doors. The first year of business was quite different from what the Nuttall’s expected due to Covid. In the early months of business, CLAY hosted many small, intimate and sweet weddings due to capacity limits. But now Becky and Aaron are so “excited people are ready to have parties and celebrate!” CLAY Venues wants to be your space for your special event.
CLAY is the only urban, industrial downtown wedding venue in Colorado Springs. Located at 10 N Wahsatch Ave, CLAY boasts a 6,000 square foot interior space along with an outdoor patio space perfect for cocktail hour, a cigar bar, lawn games or whatever you wish! There is space for up to 200 people for a seated dinner. You can celebrate both your ceremony and reception there, if you’d like. Once you book your date, you’ll have the space for 12 hours and be the only event for the day. This takes away some of the wedding day stress, knowing you have plenty of time to enjoy your day.
“Wedding planning can be such a fuss. We try to make it as simple as possible,” shares Becky. With a space as neutral and mold-able as CLAY, you can make your day exactly how you want. Bring in any decorations, flowers or ideas you’d like. You don’t have to use specific vendors; feel free to work with whatever companies you prefer for flowers, food, music, decorations and photography.
Distinctive and Unique
“CLAY is not a wedding factory,” Becky emphasizes. Each event is distinctive and unique. The staff at CLAY want to help you create a day to remember, and will honor the significance of your moment.
Some wedding websites can be generic and don’t always provide enough necessary details. Not CLAY’s website. CLAY Venues is available for events beyond weddings. It can be booked for corporate events, dinner parties, holiday get-togethers, baby showers, or bridal showers, and is available as a studio space for photo shoots for models and photographers. With white walls and concrete floors, it’s the perfect place to take amazing photographs.
