Specifically, the site’s Primrose restaurant is headed by Five-Diamond Chef Brendan Davey, a graduate of the Florida Culinary Institute. He formerly guided Ritz-Carlton Hotel kitchens for 10 years, overseeing four properties as sous chef. Prior to joining The Henderson, he was chef de cuisine at the Lodge of Sea Island Resort in Southeast Georgia.
Inside the Primrose also is a sushi bar developed by Chef Hieu Nyugen.
On Jan. 1, The Henderson staffers will host their third annual Polar Bear Plunge. Guests can celebrate the new year with a Henderson tradition and plunge into the Gulf, followed by hot drinks. Participants receive a customized long-sleeve shirt with a $25 donation to the Friends of the Emerald Coast State Parks.
Throughout the year, guests also are surrounded by splendor from the art displayed throughout The Henderson property, which showcases 13 Destin artists who were chosen to create custom pieces specifically for the resort. The artists include Melody Bogle, Melissa Mercer Brown, Lori Drew, Barbara Flowers, Justin Gaffrey, Donni Galli, Russ Gilbert, Mary Hong, Velia Lala, John Maher, Arturo Mennillo, Jeff Waldorff and JoAnn Williams Walker.
Each art piece was thoughtfully placed throughout the resort to add both beauty and ambiance.
