Một, Hai, Ba, Dzô!

In case you’re wondering, that’s “1,2,3, Cheers!” in Vietnamese.  Monsoon, the elevated Vietnamese restaurant in Old Bellevue, share’s one of their favorite cocktail recipes with Bellevue Lifestyle.  The family behind Monsoon originally wanted to create a restaurant that pushed the boundaries of “ethnic” food and introduce our city to something entirely new and original; and the outcome of their hard work is the delicious Vietnamese cuisine we get to enjoy right here Bellevue.  And even better when served alongside an inspired selection of expertly made craft cocktails.   

Up the Creek

Ingredients:

1.75 oz knob creek rye

.75 jujube (Chinese date) syrup

.75 pineapple

.75 lemon

.25 simple syrup

.25 Brovo Amaro #1

Jujube syrup:

4 oz loose packed split jujube

16 oz honey

8 oz water

2 oz lychee vinegar 

*Bring to boil, reduce heat, simmer 45 minutes, strain solids 

Directions:

Shake ingredients together, strain over ice in double old fashioned glass, garnish candied jujube and flaming cinnamon.
