The most relaxing way to climb America's Mountain is reopening in 2021: The Broadmoor Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway. A rebuilt track, new trains and a new depot and visitor center will allow you to enjoy one of the world's most unique experiences in grand style once again.
The railroad's completion up Colorado’s most famous 14’er was an historic and ambitious engineering feat 130 years ago. In 2018, work began to reconstruct the state's top tourist attraction. Replacing pickaxes and mules with modern technology, just over 30 skilled men and women worked tirelessly to spread ballast, lay ties and track rails to complete the nine-mile route covering about 8,000 vertical feet.
Your journey begins at the train depot in Manitou Springs and takes about 60 minutes to reach the breathtaking summit at 14,115 feet. Visit the all-new Summit Visitor Center, enjoy the sweeping 360-degree views and perhaps a famous Pikes Peak donut before the beautiful trip back down. A lifetime of memories in under three hours.
